About Our Haunted Barns

In 2002, several slightly twisted families who had outgrown their garage haunts were approached by Kitsap County about cooperating on a haunt event. From 2003 to 2012, the Kitsap Haunted Fairgrounds was the product of a partnership between local volunteers and Kitsap County Parks and Recreation. During this timeframe, haunt event proceeds were used to make significant improvements to fairgrounds facilities. These included sprinkler/fire alarm systems for both the sheep barn and cat barn, and a new roof and cement floor for the sheep barn. In 2013 the haunt group formed a non-profit company, Kitsap Haunted Productions, to promote and produce the annual event. Kitsap Haunted Productions is excited about the future, with the intention of growing the event every year! Design, build, staffing, and teardown is a 100% volunteer effort, and all proceeds generated go back to the community and improving the event. Located at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds, this Halloween event provides Kitsap County teens another fun entertainment option, and takes place on weekends in October. In some years, special “all dark” events are also held the first weekend in November. The website will be updated with dates and times.

We are always excited to see what the talented students of The Dance Gallery have prepared for us as they perform in the VanZee building during your wait in the line. We involve students in all phases of construction and staffing of this community event, giving them valuable experience to make decisions on further education or career choices.

Our October event takes place in 22,000 square feet of indoor space spanning three buildings on the fairgrounds. The entire haunt, ticket booth, and waiting area are indoors. Concessions are also available. Our lights-on time is specifically for young children with no scares, however some of the scenes may still be disturbing for some.
